I have a confession — I hate rankings. Yes, I know, many of you love reading them. So do I. But as a food writer, it’s a struggle to rank certain things over others. My “best” may not be another person’s “best.” As one single person reviewing everything, I cannot try every single new restaurant for instance, especially as this is only a part-time job.

But I believe value can be found in creatively ranking, with interesting categories that help you uncover new dishes and places you may not have yet explored. It’s also a way to guide insider members like yourselves, towards stories or food you might’ve missed.
