Japanese treats and eats at Konbiniya Japan Centre
With two locations, Konbiniya Japan Centre has you covered for all your Japanese treats
After memorable trips, I’m always chasing that feeling, whether it’s the stores, products or the atmosphere. Luckily, there are many places in Vancouver to enjoy Japanese food.
One such place I recommend is Konbiniya Japan Centre at 1238 Robson St. With over 1,700+ reviews on Google Maps, it’s not a hidden gem. But for those less familiar with Japanese convenience stores, you may not have ever ventured inside.
That would be a mistake. While it is not a grocery store per se, the scale of its offerings, including actual Japanese products, is very good.
They’ve got the classics — Boss coffee, numerous Kit Kat bar flavours, onigiri, ramen the stuff you’d expect at a Japanese convenience store. But home cooks will also appreciate the scale of what they offer, with different miso pastes, curries, frozen foods, meat and fish, tofu, and multiple sauce options.
These are my personal favourite snack food. Seaweed on one side, tempura on the other and drenched in wasabi, it’s a great snack any time of the day.
I was impressed with what they had. If you’re looking to stock up on Japanese items for your kitchen, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Konbinya Japan Centre.
They’ve got a second location at 2307 W 41st Ave in Kerrisdale.
