Exploring bubble tea in Richmond
A few places and teas worth sipping

In Taiwan, I went crazy. I didn’t go to fancy restaurants or high-priced stores. Instead, I went for something much more addicting. I couldn’t stop ordering bubble tea. When you’re in the capital of the iconic beverage, you try as much as you can.
Vancouverites will be familiar with that feeling. The first sip of sweetness, followed by the familiar pop as tapioca bobbas fill your mouth. It hits that pleasure sensor in a way coffee can’t.
I’m no bubble tea connoisseur. In fact, I’m rather basic. Milk tea with bobba, and I’m usually satisfied. But lately I’ve tried to branch out, experiment a bit more, get out of my comfort zone and discover the range of teas and options available. There’s more to life than just brown sugar and milk tea!
In between my stops at food courts in Richmond, I’ve sampled a few different bubble tea shops. Here are three that I recommend if you’re ever in the area.
